During the course of date of 11-15 November, these following areas were reported to have been affected by storm surge and coastal flooding: Thames Estuary (Hickey, 1997), Douglas, Hastings, Eastbourne, Weymouth, Brighton, Worthing, Portsmouth, Southampton, Southsea Castle, Bude, Helston, London, Kent and Essex coasts, Berwick and Whitby (Zong and Tooley, 2003).
